What the British Say,
What Foreigners understand
and What the British Really Mean
The theme for this project was British politeness. It was a university project at Arts University Bournemouth in the UK. As an exchange student I wanted to explore the British politeness. My starting point was an article on The Telegraph about British politeness.
The idea of the tea packaging is that you drink tea to become more British, or at least understand the Britons better. First you see the sentence that Britons say, then you see what foreigners understand. You will only see the last sentence (what the British really mean) when you drink the tea. This sentence is covered with heat sensitive ink which reveals the last sentence when it becomes hot.
